Welcome to the hawaii youth symphony!

As Hawaii’s only statewide orchestra program for youth, HYS welcomes students, ages 8-18 years, from all islands. Each year, HYS serves approximately 600 students from nearly 100 schools. Participants range from absolute beginners to Hawaii’s finest young musicians. HYS operates seven orchestras and a chamber music program during its regular season and two summer programs, including the Pacific Music Institute, an intense, music immersion program. We invite you to learn more about HYS and how our young people are building a sound future for music.
