Maia Mayeshiro

Maia Mayeshiro is thrilled to be a part of the Hawaiʻi Youth Symphony’s Music in the Clubhouse Program at the Windward Boys and Girls Club of Hawaiʻi and looking forward to sharing her passion for ʻukulele with young musicians. Maia started playing the ʻukulele when she was just 6 years old, initially performing on the sidewalks of Waikiki with her brother to make money. Over the years, she’s been fortunate to perform on stages in Japan, the outer islands of Hawaiʻi, and even on the Miss America stage.

Maia truly believes that music is a powerful and essential outlet for youth—it’s a source of joy, expression, and connection. She feels honored to serve as a teacher and to help young students discover their own love for music and their unique talents. She looks forward to creating a fun and inspiring environment where everyone can thrive with the ʻukulele!
