Mackenzie Kwong

Mackenzie Kwong is a locally born-and-raised violinist and music educator who has been active in Hawaiʻi’s music education community since 2019. He graduated from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa with a bachelor’s degree in music education. Mr. Kwong was recently appointed conductor of HYS’ String Orchestra Ensemble and Concert String Orchestra. He also serves as Orchestra Director at Kawananakoa Middle School, Violin Section Instructor at President William McKinley High School, and Admissions Coordinator for Pacific Music Institute. In addition, he frequently appears as a guest clinician for orchestra programs across Hawaiʻi. Outside of music, he enjoys cooking, collecting sneakers, and following the Seattle Seahawks.
