Donor FAQs

Annual fund gifts are extremely important to helping HYS close the gap between registration and other fees and actual operational costs. Gifts received from annual appeals or solicitations are used to meet operating expenses such as music programming, financial aid, rehearsal space rental, concert production costs, neighbor island tours, workshops, music and instrument maintenance.

Send a check, payable to “HYS” or “Hawaii Youth Symphony” to 1350 S. King Street, Suite 201, Honolulu, HI 96814

Many corporations support their employees by matching gifts to non profits of their choice. Please check with your company to see if they have a matching program and a form you may send in with your gift to HYS. This is a relatively easy way to increase your impact on our programs.

HYS is outfitted to accept contributions in different forms, including stock gifts, which often provide additional tax benefits to donors.

Gifts may be made in honor or in memory of someone special. Note cards advising the honoree or family members of your gift can be mailed at the time a gift is received by HYS if proper contact information is provided with your gift.

You can make a significant contribution to HYS and receive considerable tax advantages by designating the Hawaii Youth Symphony as a beneficiary in your will, living trust, retirement plan or insurance policy. It is a way to enjoy the benefits of giving while retaining full use of your property.
